Empties

You know those times when every beauty product you own seems to run out at exactly the same time? Yep, that is what has happened to me right now. Therefore, I thought I would show you some of my favourite empties of the moment which I will definitely be repurchasing. Plus, I am going on holiday tomorrow with all my girls, perfect excuse to buy some new beauty bits I think!?

1) I am a big fan of eye creams, and although I am only in my early twenties I think it is very important to start young when it comes to protecting your delicate eye area. I have tried many eye creams in my time and I have to say this Institut Estherderm eye cream has definitely been my favourite. The cream is the perfect consistency and sinks in automatically and leaves the eye area feeling soothed and refreshed, just what you need in the morning! Although the eye cream is very pricey at £38 (available here) this tube has lasted me about 8 months so works out as quite good value for money in the long run!
2) I am a huge, huge Liz Earle fan and have been ever since trying my mums cleanse and polish a couple of years ago. I was lucky enough to be given some of their best selling items in the Nottingham beauty bloggers goody bag last month which I have been addicted to ever since. However, one of my favourites has to be the  skin repair moisturisor which I am very sad to of finished. With avocado oil and echinecea the cream smells fantastic and feels wonderful on the skin. For a full review of the moisturisor see my previous post here.
The moisturisor costs £19.25 and is available here
3) My all time favourite eye make up remover which I have been repurchasing time and time again for many years now is the Clinique naturally gentle eye make up remover. I have probably been using this product for about 6 years now and I don't think I could ever be converted to another eye make up remover. It melts away even the most stubborn mascara quickly and easily with no need to scrubbing and rubbing the delicate eye area. At £14 for 75ml it is not too bad considering how long it lasts and I always purchase it whilst Clinique has their Bonus Time on so always get a few free samples with it. It is available here
4) The New Cid i-prime foundation primer is definitely up there with the best primers I have tried. I love the pump bottle which dispenses just the right amount for each application. It goes on so smoothly and makes your skin feel wonderful and the perfect base for make up application. It even won the 'look fantastic hair and beauty awards' in 2011. The primer is available from here for £28
5) My absolute favourite face scrub and best bargain product I have found has to be this St Ives face scrub which is a wonder product considering its £3.99 price tag. I love that the grains are thick and actually do something compared to some scrubs which just dissolve as soon as they touch your skin. It instantly reveals a new layer of skin leaving your face so soft and radiant and completely revitalised. I can't recommend this product enough and can't wait to re-purchase. This product is available here
So there is my round up of my recent empties and favourite products, have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Dash For The Sun

For those of you who regularly read my blog, you will know that I love a great advertising campaign. Exciting viral videos are such a great way of advertising and getting lots of people talking about your brand. A recent campaign which works so well and combines the perfect combination of reality and humour is the Warehouse Dash For The Sun campaign.  We all know the feeling, after a horrible long winter of wrapping ourselves up in layers and layers of clothes, the moment we get the slightest glimmer of sunshine, we all suddenly want to rip all our clothes off and expose as much skin as possible. Even though it might still only be 15 degrees outside, it suddenly feels like we are in the tropics and people all over flock to the park with a picnic, whack out the barbecue and head for the beer gardens. Warehouse have captured the essence of this excitement showing how we can go from the winter gloom to excited and smiling and putting on our summer dresses as soon as the sun shines!

With Britain currently in the middle of a 'heatwave' what better time to release the ad. I think the campaign works so well because it is true and people can instantly relate to it. The best ingredients for a successful campaign. And it is certainly true for me... as we speak I have just come back after a long afternoon in the park in my shortest shorts and skimpiest top trying to soak up every bit of sun I can. We've got to make the most of it, who knows how long it will last!

Being a sucker for advertising, I went straight onto the Warehouse website to check out their new collections. I never really shop in Warehouse and tend to forget about it when on my shopping trips. However, looking at their new stuff there are some great pieces which may have to make it into my new summer wardrobe.... here are some of my favourites.

What do you think of the Dash For The Sun campaign?

Graduate Fashion Week 2013

On Monday I went down to London's Earl Court for Graduate Fashion Week. I have never been to the event before so was very excited to have a look around and see all the amazing new designers and collections as well as attending some inspirational talks. We began by looking around all the stalls, which was fascinating, if a little intimating as there were so many amazing pieces of work on display. As I studied Fashion Marketing and Branding I was particularly interested in all the similar courses showing and there was some fantastic work from other universities. I enjoyed looking around the Nottingham Trent stand which I must say looked amazing, and was surprised to see one of my postcards on display. I knew that no work from my course was going to be displayed but there was lots of information and help on hand for prospective students. I really wish I went to the event before I started university as there was so much choice and information about different routes.
After looking around all the stands we then went to a talk held by the social media team at Karen Milen. The talk was about how important social media is nowadays and there were some mind blowing facts. We then popped along to the chat by one of my favourite bloggers Susie Bubble and journalist extraordinaire Melanie Rickey who gave a great talk about the future of blogging. This talk was followed by the two owners of Trace PR telling us about how to make a career in PR. This was extremely exciting for me as PR is my industry so listening to what they had to say inspired and excited me even more to start my dream career. We then went off to the main event- the Nottingham Trent fashion show. The show was absolutely stunning with some amazing collections. It felt like I was watching some established designer pieces coming down the catwalk rather than students work. I had lots of favourite collections which I will be looking out for in the future which will no doubt be household names very shortly. After the show there was just enough time to listen to the final talk by my favourite journalist Colin McDowell and founder of the Business of Fashion, Imran Amed. Both men were so inspiring and motivational, a great end to my day. All in all, I had an amazing day and learnt so much. Although the last day of the show is tomorrow, if you are thinking about a career in fashion or just love fashion in general then you should definitely head along either this year or next!

Oh My Love AW'13 Press Party

On Thursday I worked at the Oh My Love A/W'13 press party to showcase the next season collections from the funky East London brand. I arrived early to commence preparations for the event and organise everything that was needed for the perfect party including making up some fabulous goody bags! The party kicked off at 6pm with lots of stylists, editors, journalists and bloggers all coming together to preview the new collection and indulge in some of the most amazing food and cocktails. One of the highlights had to be the Mother Flipper Burgers, which, no word of a lie, were the best burgers I have ever tasted. I began the night with a bacon candy burger which was incredible. I somehow thought that it was acceptable to have another burger within the space of a few hours, so I ended the night with the vegetarian mushroom and haloumi burger, an absolute dream! There were then, of course, the gin cocktails which allowed me to stand all night in my heels! Guests could also get their nails done by the Nail Girls or have their photo taken in the photo booth area with mounds of fancy dress to choose from. There was also the DJ'ing skills of the delightful Zoe from The London Lipgloss playing out some cracking tunes for the guests to boogey to. Other than all the entertainment, the new collection from Oh My Love was amazing with so many lovely pieces (many designed by the gorgeous Charlene from Strutt) that I need to add to my wardrobe in the next few months! All in all, I had a great time working for Oh My Love and all the girls in the office were so, so lovely and hosted an amazing event! Check out the website here and wait for new collection to arrive soon!

Blue Shoes

I'm a bit obsessed with trousers aren't I? I seem to be drawn to all types of trousers at the moment and can't stop buying them! However, I have just been having a clear out of all my clothes ready to move back home and the amount of stuff I have accumulated over 3 years at university is ridiculous. I'm not sure how I am going to fit all my stuff into one house now. Therefore, a huge clear out and a spending ban is in order! But anyway, this is an outfit featuring all my new clothes I got for my birthday from my boyfriend, who apparently has the best taste in clothes! Although, I did pick a few of the items myself! I am obsessed with my new Zara bag and blue shoes and don't think I will ever take them off! Also I just realised I am wearing the same top and necklace combo in this outfit as I was in my previous outfit post! Definitely finding one look and sticking to it here!

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that I am a bit obsessed with men's fashion. Men's style has always intrigued me and I am often more excited when I see a well dressed man than a well dressed woman. Therefore, my love of menswear led me to become a contributing writer for the amazing men's fashion blog that is menswearstyle.co.uk. The blog is dedicated to hot topics, new brands and style advice for men all over the world and is the perfect read for all men (and women) interested in fashion. I love being able to write about girly things like beauty products and outfits on here and then write about my love of men's style on there. I just wanted to share with you a few articles I have written for the blog and show you my other passion. I hope you enjoy reading them!
