Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

 You may have seen my blog post about the Kiehls Blogger Event I went to recently at my local store in Nottingham. It was a fabulous evening filled with all things skincare, the perfect night for a beauty addict like myself. We were very generously given a goody bag to take away with us and try and the end of the evening. The bag included this fabulous Midnight Recovery Concentrate which is a new hero product of mine! The oil is described as "a replenishing elixir of pure essential oils and distilled botanicals to visibly restore the appearance of skin by morning.Wow, doesn't that just sound great!? It is a facial oil to be used at night time to give the skin an overnight treat. At the event, we were told the best way to use it is to put 2-3 drops into the palm of your hand then rub the hands together. You then need to breathe the smell in deeply before patting it gently into the skin. It can be used on its own or underneath your usual moisturisor. I used the product after cleansing my skin, and then did as instructed, but didn't apply moisturisor afterwards because I felt like I didn't need it aswell.

The best tip was to take a deep breathe first. The natural scent, I think it was lavender, among others, was so relaxing and helped me sleep. Then by patting it into the skin instead of rubbing, makes sure that it really penetrates the skin instead of just sitting as a layer on top. When I woke up in the morning my skin really did feel smooth and 'restored'. The essential oils and evening primrose oil help the skin to give it a moisture boost and it certainly worked!

I have used it 3 or 4 times now and although my skin has felt amazing as soon as I woke up, I haven't really seen any long term difference in smoothness yet. But as I say, it is very early days, you probably need to use it for a few weeks to notice a difference.

Overall, The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a beautiful product and I would highly recommend it as a weekly treatment for tired or dull skin. Although it is rather pricey, it is definitely worth it as a treat or to be added to your wishlist! I think I need to invest in some more Kiehls products now...
